One of the joys of a website like this is that I get to say whatever the fcuk I like… And I get to have some fun at other peoples expense. The site I’m going to review here is one thoroughly deserving of this. One of the worst sites I’ve seen in a long time.

What drew it to our attention? Well, the owner left a pretty snide comment on the site of a friend of mine – a young guy from England who recently set up a blog aimed at the male market – you know the kind of thing, along the lines of the ‘male interest’ magazines seen all over the world – girls, cars, sport and just the stuff that guys like. Nothing wrong with that – at least he isn’t another “I know fcuking everything even though I’ve been on the Internet for two minutes I can tell you how to get rich quick if you send me some money” type….

Here’s the comment

Juvenile and pathetic as only a site called blokebuddy could be – scared of women then huh? Not too hot on English either, ’spending there time’ should be ’spending their time’ by the way.

To be honest I think the owner of the site the comment was left on may well concede his grammar is not always perfect. However, knowing his blog – he is a bright guy and has some interesting and informative information on the site… And, in terms of design and navigation – it’s a pretty good site. It’s a big market and a sensible choice of content for a guy who’s interested in – well – girls, cars, and other stuff guys are interested in… If you’re a ‘regular guy’ Bloke Buddy is well worth a visit.

Don’t ask me why but Bloke Buddy’s owner left on a link that Peter Simmons – the guy who made the comment had put on to his website oneworldnet.co.uk. Naturally we had to take a look – what a total disaster both in terms of design and content. Here’s a guy who clearly is a ‘legend in his own tiny little mind’ – if I were to describe a site as a car wreck – this is it. It’s a mish mash of diverse content, no clear message or topic, and if the text were believed here’s a man who can just about do anything and everything (I’ll come back to that in a minute). But hey – I have to hand it to him – the grammar is okay

The site leads of into all kinds of various areas and with disparate design styles (I use the word ‘design’ loosely) – all fairly random, in the ugliest of colours. Masses of Google Adsense and unrelated affiliate links, and – of course it sells ebooks. Though I have to be fair – at least they are on one topic – the environment – in keeping with his poorly designed, blog, ‘Fool on the Hill’ (does Peter live on a hill I wonder…?)

Business wise it seems that Peter Simmons is all things to all men… His services include.

• Website design: Hmmnnn, his own site is hardly a great showcase is it?
• Banner design: Have you seen his on the home page? (badly designed and blurred)
• Publishing services: Is this restricted to environmental ebooks I wonder? (didn’t see a track record in anything else on there)
• Photography: Now I happen to know a thing or two about photography (I have a degree, I’ve taught the subject at University, and I have sold and had work published all over the world) – his photography is garbage – what few photographs are on the site seem to have been taken years ago (a bit of a clue being the link to pictures of loads of old hippies apparently in the 1970’s).
• Record sales: He also is selling old vinyl records from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s! (I can only guess his own collection – unless his full time job is running an old record stall in a flea market – which would sort of make sense as looking at the site he can’t be making much of these ‘businesses’)

So what conclusion do we draw from what we saw on his site and in his comment…? In my opinion, Peter is possibly;

1. A tree hugging former hippy
2. Loves his dogs
3. Can’t design websites
4. Is a terrible photographer
5. Doesn’t like sport
6. Respects ladies or is gay
7. Has little or no business acumen
8. Is good at grammar if nothing else
9. Is delusional that anyone gives a flying fcuk what he thinks!
